IRA’s 2025 Zoom AGM is

The 2025 Interior Running Association (IRA) Executive Team is inviting you to the IRA’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) by Zoom on December 11, 2025 at 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm (PST). This is when the 2026 IRA Executive will be elected.
It is also when the voting takes place for the 2025 Heinrich Spiller Award. Note: Anyone can nominate a runner for this award, but the person making the nomination must be present at the AGM to speak to the reason for nominating the runner or send this in writing to president of IRA before the AGM. Nominations are to be sent via email to: interior.running@gmail.com prior to the AGM.
Only members of the IRA (i.e. IRA exec, club reps or Race Directors) can vote at the AGM for the above award and for the new 2026 Executive. (1 vote per person)

The Heinrich Spiller Award of Courage
This award was presented for the first time in 2002. It is in memory of Heinrich, who was a top-notch age group runner in the 55-59 and 60-64 categories. Heinrich ran, and won, while battling the cancer that eventually took him from us. His widow Susan, son Rob, and Grant Turner of Canadian Tire in Vernon have donated this award to the series. The award honors the runner who best personified courage in the face of physical adversity. Many people choose to face this sort of battle in private, and we respect your wishes, and salute all of you.
The Heinrich Spiller Award is decided each year at the Interior Running Association’s AGM. To be eligible, the nominee must be a member of an IRA member club, or a member of BC athletics and the nominee must have continued to be involved with the Interior Running Association in some capacity to qualify for this award.
