I am writing to share updates on behalf of the IRA Executive as we attempt to navigate through the challenging situation of COVID-19.
As we all know, the events of the past days have been unprecedented. The race organizers and the IRA executive continue to monitor the situation. The IRA is providing up-to-date information to the race directors and to IRA race participants in an effort to support and guide the organizers of our series races and of course race participants. The IRA seeks guidance and information from BC Athletics, as it sanctions our events as well as other events throughout the province.
The IRA will update everyone in a timely fashion, meaning that as soon as we know, we will post on our Facebook page and the IRA website.
You may have a lot of questions with respect to the postponement of the Spring Run Off.
Please be patient, as there is a lot to consider when organizing races. As the Kamloops Ridge Runner president stated, “Over the next week or two the board will work to determine the best course of action for the 2020 Spring Run Off and will inform everyone with how we are going to move forward”. In the meantime, continue with your training with the hope that the COVID-19 will be under control and life will get back to the ‘new normal’.
